Hamachi Magic: Creating a 1.10.2 Multiplayer Server for Minecraft

8th May, 2022

Beloved Sandbox Game

Minecraft, the beloved sandbox game, offers players the ability to explore, build, and collaborate in vast virtual worlds. While the game supports multiplayer functionality, hosting a server can sometimes be a daunting task. However, with the help of Hamachi, a virtual private network (VPN) application, you can create a 1.10.2 multiplayer server for Minecraft and invite your friends to join you in your own private gaming realm. In this article, we will guide you through the process of setting up a Hamachi server for Minecraft 1.10.2, allowing you to enjoy multiplayer adventures with your friends.

Minecraft Server

What is Hamachi?

Hamachi is a VPN application that creates a virtual network, allowing you to securely connect multiple computers over the internet as if they were on the same local network. This is particularly useful for Minecraft multiplayer servers, as it enables you to host a server that your friends can join even if they are not physically connected to the same network.

Step 1: Download and Install Hamachi

Start by downloading Hamachi from the official website (https://www.vpn.net/). Choose the version suitable for your operating system, and follow the instructions to install it on your computer.

Step 2: Create a Hamachi Network

After installing Hamachi, launch the application and create a new network. Click on "Network" in the top menu and select "Create a new network." Enter a name for your network and choose a strong password. Share the network name and password with your friends who will be joining your Minecraft server.

Step 3: Download Minecraft Server Software

Next, download the Minecraft server software for version 1.10.2 from the official Minecraft website (https://www.minecraft.net/en-us/download/server). Make sure to choose the correct version to match the version you want to play.

Step 4: Configure the Minecraft Server

Create a new folder on your computer where you want to store the Minecraft server files. Move the downloaded Minecraft server software into this folder. Double-click on the server software file to launch it.

A new text file called "eula.txt" will be generated in the server folder. Open this file and change the value of "eula=false" to "eula=true" to accept the Minecraft End User License Agreement. Save and close the file.

Step 5: Configure Hamachi Network Settings

Go back to the Hamachi application and ensure that you are logged in. Click on "Network" in the top menu and select "Network settings." In the "Network Type" section, choose the option "Mesh" to allow all network members to communicate with each other. Click "Save" to apply the changes.

Step 6: Start the Minecraft Server

Return to the Minecraft server folder and double-click on the server software file again. A console window will open, indicating that the server is starting up. Wait for the server to finish initializing.

Step 7: Share the Hamachi IP Address

In the Hamachi application, you will see a unique IP address assigned to your computer within the Hamachi network. Share this IP address with your friends who will be joining your Minecraft server.

Step 8: Join the Minecraft Server

To join the Minecraft server, your friends will need to launch Minecraft on their own computers. In the Minecraft main menu, they should click on "Multiplayer" and then "Direct Connect." They should enter your Hamachi IP address, followed by ":25565" (the default Minecraft server port). Click "Join Server" to connect to the server.

Enjoy Multiplayer Adventures!

Congratulations! You have successfully set up a 1.10.2 multiplayer server for Minecraft using Hamachi. You and your friends can now embark on exciting multiplayer adventures together in your own private gaming world. Explore, build, and collaborate to your heart's content, as Hamachi enables secure communication between all connected players.

Remember to keep your Hamachi network secure by sharing the network details only with trusted friends. Additionally, ensure that your computer meets the system requirements to host a Minecraft server and that you have a stable internet connection.

Hamachi offers a convenient and straightforward way to create a Minecraft multiplayer server, bridging the gap between friends and enabling shared gaming experiences. So gather your friends, dive into the Minecraft universe, and let the adventures unfold in your self-hosted 1.10.2 Minecraft world.
